Single player feels like the perfect training grounds for new players that’ll help them when it comes to war attacks. You analyse the base, look for potential weaknesses, then exploit them.
An example would be a level that has a bunch of high value defences clumped together near the outside. A rage spell and a couple well placed E-Drags would be perfect, so you train up an army with that in mind.
Then you go ahead with the strategy only to discover there’s 15 black mines surrounding that area.
Why?? What purpose does this serve other than infuriating the player because their attack was wasted? Single player ends up feeling as if it has wasted potential, instead of being a learning experience the devs just filled levels with trolls that encourage players to look up strats instead of overcoming the challenge themselves and becoming a better attacker
