Unpopular opinion: The Spring update will not include Builder Base 2.0

There have been a hundred posts with players asking "Will I have time to get the OTTO builder before Builder Hall 2.0 comes out?" And most of the comments seem to think that we are very close to it releasing, especially with the first sneak peek video coming out a week ago. But based on what we saw, I don't think it's close to release. Either it won't be part of the normal end-of-April spring update, or that update will be delayed to late May or later.

Here's why:

• The video begins with the disclaimer "Alpha footage of multi-stage Builder Base" indicating this is very early footage of gameplay

• Some of the effects look unfinished (like active abilities of troops, and the troop recall animations at the end of the first stage battle)

• Lack of polish indicates mechanics/abilities are likely still being balanced and changed (just like how they didn't have correct cannon animations in the very first sneak peek as they were still experimenting with different troop abilities)

• The final message reads "See you in the next blog post" indicating that there will be more blog posts and sneak peeks to come

• The blog post mentions builder hall 10 is coming in the same update, but we haven't seen any details or sneak peek of that yet

• The blog post also indicates that this is the largest/most challenging update the team has worked on, and that they are spending time to get it right.

Maybe only the vocal minority is convinced that Builder Hall 2.0 will drop this month with the typical Spring update release cadence, but based on what we've seen I highly doubt it. 2.0 looks to be a hard correction to a largely unpopular implementation of a potentially great addition to CoC, so they are going to make sure the experience is balanced and polished for it's re-release.

I'm taking a three day break from rushing OTTO tasks to build my lava launcher and upgrade my resource pumps/mines, since we likely still have at least a month before we get the 2.0 update and I don't want to spend gems to afford the final resources for them.
